Muax (Henry Fecherolle) is a Belgian musician based in Cologne. His musical language is open and unbound – rooted in jazz and improvisation, shaped by experimental freedom, electronic textures, and occasional pop or rock edges, always guided by instinct. As a trumpeter with a strong sense for mood and sonic color, he creates music that can be playful one moment and deeply introspective the next.

Before a piece takes shape, there is often just a single tone, an image, or a feeling in the room. Muax embraces the freedom of not committing to one direction. His influences range from contemporary artists such as Ibrahim Maalouf, Ferdinand Schwarz, Daoud, and Bart Maris to jazz legends like Chet Baker and Woody Shaw, enriched by urban sounds, memories, and spontaneous impulses.

With the new album AMORE (2026), Muax turns his focus to love in its different states – longing, closeness, distance, and what remains unsaid. The record moves between trumpet-led instrumentals, songs, and spoken texts, staying intimate, reduced, and atmospheric. In earlier releases – including Trouble (2023), The Dictator Is Coming (2024), and Missing You – he explored the many voices of his instrument between melody and noise, structure and improvisation.

Live, Muax can be heard with the Cologne-based improvisation collective Anonyme Gesellschaft and at selected concerts as a guest trumpeter with the duo Toi et Moi. Since 2025, he has also been part of Aeonlicht, a German-language indie-pop/alternative project centered around poetic songwriting and modern pop feminism.

For Muax, one principle applies: “Do something, then something happens.” And whatever happens is often surprising – sometimes beautiful, sometimes strange, but always honest.

In früheren Veröffentlichungen – darunter Trouble (2023), The Dictator Is Coming (2024) und Missing You – hat er die vielen Stimmen der Trompete zwischen Melodie und Noise, Struktur und Improvisation ausgelotet.

Live ist Muax u. a. mit dem Kölner Impro-Kollektiv Anonyme Gesellschaft zu hören sowie bei ausgewählten Konzerten als Gasttrompeter mit dem Duo Toi et Moi. Seit 2025 ist er außerdem Teil von Aeonlicht, einem deutschsprachigen Indie-Pop/Alternative-Projekt mit poetischem Songwriting und modernem Pop-Feminismus.
